League Currency System

What is the League Currency System?
The League Currency System is a system used to simulate payouts for race events as well as calculate simulated costs for teams. Drivers earn money based on their contract with a team while teams earn money based on race payouts but are then subject to operating costs and costs to repair damage that was accrued during the race event. These amounts are then deposited into the driver and team account respectively and are earned over the span of their career at FTSR.

Exchange Rate
The exchange rate for the fantasy league currency is $1 USD = $100,000 league currency.

Purchasing Currency
Members will need to purchase league currency to buy charters, make purchases and more. League currency can be purchased by clicking on the plus sign beside your total at the top of the page and following the instructions there. This will direct you to PayPal to complete the transaction and then back to the website. IMPORTANT: Please make sure to allow the redirect to complete before closing or navigating away from the page to ensure a smooth and problem-free process.

Using Your Currency
As mentioned above, team owners primarily use the currency to purchase charters for a season of racing as well as general upkeep of the team (if applicable). The league currency is used for all transactions on the site. Drivers and teams can also use this currency to enter into games under the games tab, purchase items at the store or pay for other services offered by the league. The league currency have no monetary value outside of the FTSR system and can only be used for purchases within the system.

My Transactions
All league transactions are tracked and can be viewed by going to your "My Transactions" page. There you will see each transaction that has occurred on your account. If there is ever a question with your balance, you can see here the changes to your account. If you still have questions, feel free to contact us and we will look into the issue.

Race Earnings
Payouts are based roughly on the real-life series counterpart, meaning that, for example, Cup Series drivers and team will earn significantly more for a race event than Truck Series drivers and teams. These amounts can be found on the Costs & Payouts tab for each series.

Team Operational Costs
There are several different costs associated with operating a race team and we try to simulate each. Below is a breakdown of each type and how it is calculated.

Driver Salary
This is the amount paid to the driver based on his contract percentage. Note that this is paid BEFORE any damage costs.

Tire Sets

Tires are expensive. Each set of racing tires are estimated to be around $1600 at the NASCAR level. We took this value and roughly applied it times the tire sets allow for the series PLUS the set on the car.

Race Fuel
NASCAR teams use roughly around 75 gallons of race fuel on a weekend at a cost of around $9 per gallon. We lowered this a bit but used this to roughly simulate the fuel costs to the teams. (We are aware that NASCAR compensates the teams for this but added it anyway.)

Travel Expenses
it takes money to get from race to race. The team travel expenses cover room and board for your crew, fuel, meals and all other traveling costs for your team. It takes a lot to move the circus around.

Team Payroll
You gotta pay your team, right? Team Payroll makes sure that your pit crew, mechanics and other team members get paid. Note that this also scales depending on the series level. Obviously there are many more team members on a Cup Series team than a Truck Series team.

Inspection Fee
Each car has to be inspected before a race. Teams also pay an entry fee per event. The Inspection fee simulates the fees imposed by the sanctioning body.

Damage Costs
Damage costs are calculated by using the number of incidents accrued during an event. You can view each series damage costs on the Money System tab for the series. Below is a breakdown of how we calculate body, chassis and engine damage.

Body Repairs
Body repairs is calculated by a simple 1-to-1 ratio. For each 1x earned by the driver, the team is charged for body damage based on the body damage costs set for the series.

Chassis Repairs
Chassis damage is calculated by taking the total amount of incident points and dividing it by 2.  For every 2 incidents earned by the driver, the team is charged for chassis damage based on the chassis damage costs set for the series.

Engine Repairs
Engine damage is calculated by taking the total amount of incident points and dividing it by 4.  For every 4 incidents earned by the driver, the team is charged for engine damage based on the engine damage costs set for the series.

Total Driver Earnings
This is the amount the driver is paid based on their contract with the team per race. This amount is deposited into the drivers account.

Total Team Earnings
This is the amount that the team earns after paying the driver, operational costs and damage costs. This amount is deposited into the team owners account..
